I met gorgeous little Rosie Jean when she was just 6 days old. Newborn Rosie Jean was born on the 17th September…
It was a nice sunny September morning and the house was lovely and warm when I arrived and Sam and Emily made me feel very welcome. Little Rosie had a big feed before we started the shoot. I started with a few natural shots of Rosie awake on one of Mum’s (Emily) favourite knitted blankets, she was quite happy keeping herself entertained. This was a great moment as I was able to get some shots of Rosie with her eyes open so young.
Not long after Rosie soon fell asleep she was a dream to photoshoot, very sleepy baby! We then moved onto the creative part of the shoot, creating a floral rose wreath on a simple white blanket. Mum and Dad (Sam) chose the roses to link to Rosie’s name. I swaddled little Rosie and placed her in the centre of the flower wreath. On a couple of the shots Rosie’s eyes opened to the sound of the camera clicking and then she drifted off into a deep sleep for the rest of the shoot.
Dad being very creative himself had made a letter ‘R’ out of cardboard and decoupaged it in pretty green and pink floral paper. I used this in several of the shots next to Rosie. Later in the shoot out came the Minnie Mouse outfit- Mum was a big fan of Disney so had bought this especially for the shoot! And little Rosie looked adorable in her outfit sleeping next to stuffed toy, Mickey mouse. Look out for these at the bottom of this post!
I hope you enjoy the small selection of photographs from the shoot! Thanks for having me Emily and Sam! I had a wonderful morning!
