Rosie Alice – Bump and Newborn Shoot

In August the lovely Claire contacted me to do a bump and newborn shoot of her and the new baby when she was born. I photographed Claire’s bump on the Friday 19th August and little Rosie Alice came into the world on Tuesday 23rd August.

The Bump Shoot

The beginning of the week it had been lovely weather, the sun was shinning and there was blue skies. We planned to do the bump shoot on the Friday morning at Rutland Water as there was lots of lovely places and backdrops for the shoot…

Unfortunately when it got to Friday it was raining and the rain wasn’t stopping! We were under a tight schedule as Claire was booked into have baby delivered on the Tuesday so we decided to work with what we had, and did the shoot at mine. Luckily we have lots of big windows in our house so that gave great natural lighting and the walls are very neutral, so it made it ideal for the shoot. Claire arrived in the morning with  little Olivia (daughter) who was four at the time, with a bag full of bits for the shoot. We had discussed ideas for the shoot before, and planned to do a variety of shots of Claire and the bump and of course shots with big sister Olivia too. In the shoot we used matching tops/bottoms, scan pictures, baby booties, and even had Olivia painting mummies tummy at the end!Claire & Craig Review

Newborn Baby Rosie Alice

On Wednesday 31st August I met little Rosie Alice, she was a tiny 8 days old and she was beautiful! It was a lovely day and the sun was shinning- a little different to the day we did the bump shoot! It was nice and warm in the Buckle household- hence why Rosie slept for most of the shoot.

To start the shoot I positioned the bean bag and lay blankets over the top, this made a perfect comfy spot for little Rosie to relax on and I was able to take a variety of different shots. Rosie looked as cute as a button all wrapped up in the swaddle blanket! During the shoot I took some shots of Rosie with her big sister Olivia. I managed to capture some ‘sisterly love’ poses of these very cute sisters! I would like to say a big thank you to Claire and Craig for letting me capture some precious memories…

I thoroughly enjoyed my time photographing this wonderful family and I certainly look forward to working with them again!
