Back last year I was approached by Hayley and John to design their Wedding Stationery for their big day and to also do their Wedding Photography. I was thrilled that they had chosen me to do both for them!
In early July I decided to do a mini photoshoot at Normanton Church of Hayley and John’s Wedding Stationery. It was the most gorgeous evening, blue skies and the sun was beaming down. Gorgeous light for photographs! See the photos below of their gorgeous stationery and to find out a little more about designing the stationery for Hayley and John read below…
Designing Hayley & John’s Stationery
I first met this lovely couple in a Cafe Nero one morning to discuss their plans for the big day and ideas for the stationery… lots of note taking whilst sipping tea and coffee!
I first got to work on their Save the Date Cards. Hayley sent me through lots of gorgeous images of colour palettes and flowers she liked to set the design process off. They wanted something floral with a rustic feel. This gave me lots of ideas as I love anything floral and Hayley had picked the most delightful flowers. Lots of small details were added to the designs such as bunting, a little bird singing etc. The Save the Dates were designed in a bookmark format as Hayley had seen one of my previous designs and liked the idea that guests could reuse the card.
Once the Save the Dates hand be sent out, it was time to start the invitations. The same theme and colour palette was carried through to the designs, with bunting and lots of luscious florals but the layout was designed for a folded invite. Choosing the folded invitation meant we had four sides to include illustrations and information on about the big day (see more in the pictures below). The front of the invitation was similar to the Save the Dates with the bunting and flower details. Hayley and John were getting married at the beautiful Normanton Church by Rutland Water and then venue was to follow at the Barnsdale Hall Hotel. Some guests had never been to the venues so to help guests with directions I illustrated a map of Rutland water and the venues (this was situated over the two inside pages of the invitation). On the back of the card more information about the day was listed. The invitations were sent out in rustic brown kraft envelopes and sealed with a sticker with a monogram of their initials.
Keep your eyes peeled soon for a post about their Wedding Day!
