Jayne and Ian got married at the beautiful Risley Hall in Derbyshire. It was the most gorgeous venue set in an 11th- century manor with 10 acres of landscaped grounds. One of Derbyshire’s best kept secrets. The sun was shining bright and there was blue skies all round, perfect for a summer’s day. A very picturesque setting!
I started off the day with the groom Ian, photographing the guests as they arrived. Ian greeted the guests on the beaming red carpet that lead to the doors of the venue where a lovely handmade bunting hung elegantly across the top.
The guests gathered into the venue and soon filled up the seating whilst Ian anxiously waited for the brides entrance. First to walk in were the beautiful flowers girls wearing dusky pink dresses with matching flower crowns and rose pomanders. Jayne followed along with her six bridesmaids. Jayne looked beautiful in her sweetheart neckline dress, with a bouquet of eucalyptus, dusky pink roses and hints of gypsophila. The bridesmaids were dressed in light grey floor length dresses with delicate floral details, and carried bouquets to compliment Jayne’s.
Jayne and Ian lovingly said their vows to one another. Whilst I was stood there, I could tell this couple were truly right for one another. The way they looked at each other and smiles that lit up their faces once they had said their vows, they were so in love. Whilst Jayne and Ian signed the register, Jayne’s good friend Kirsty sang ‘O mio babbino caro” by Puccini.
There was lots of fun and laughter after the ceremony as guest gathered to throw confetti over Jayne and Ian. I took lots of candid shots as guests talked and celebrated. Guests helped themselves to drinks as Jayne, Ian and I walked around the stunning grounds to take the couple shots.
The hall was decorated with lots of lovely touches, and Jayne had cleverly crafted all the table name places, the tiny favour boxes and even the table plan. She had done a brilliant job! On each of the tables sat a jug of flowers, with the table number in a little heart frame with glass stones and heart confetti scattered beautifully. All the colours selected complimented the pink and grey theme. The cakes stood proud. Jayne and Ian are particularly fond of the Minions so they became their cake toppers, how cute! Next to this was the yummy cupcake tower… they looked delicious, they made my mouth water whilst I was photographing them!
The guest partied late into the evening and had a brilliant day. It was such an enjoyable laid back wedding day. A very big thank you to Jayne and Ian for letting me capture their story…
